Hooky Gold has put in an Olympic performance at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) Midlands Region Beer Competition 2011.
The beer won gold in the Bottled Gold Beer category and then went on to scoop silver in the overall Bottled Beer class. The win means Hook Norton beers have won 12 major awards in national and international competitions so far this year. Hooky Gold 4.2% ABV is a very pale, crisp beer, confidently displaying it's hop character. It is the first Hook Norton beer to feature aromatic American hops.
A modern, refreshing beer it has a fruity aroma and a pleasant, light taste. Hook Norton Managing Director James Clarke said: "I am delighted that one of our beers has won an award at this important competition. Hook Norton picked up two awards at the prestigious British Bottlers' Institute Awards.
Hooky Bitter won gold in Class A – Ales up to 3.9 per cent alcohol by volume.
In the Packaging Class Hook Norton Flagship won a Diploma.
