Hook Norton launches Beefy's Bitter

10p from every pint sold to go to charity

English cricket legend Ian Botham is used to receiving accolades for his sporting success. But naming a beer in his honour has really bowled him over. Hook Norton has hit him for six with the launch of a limited edition Beefy's Bitter - at 4.5 per cent pale ale ABV.

As an added incentive, 10p from every pint will go to Leukaemia Research, the charity of which Ian Botham is president. Hook Norton Managing Director James Clarke said: “People will also get a chance to see one of cricket's most famous heroes as he accompanies the brewery's horse drawn dray as part of the Oxford leg of his nine-day charity walk Beefy Bowls Out Teenage Cancer, on 16 October.” Go to www.bothamwalk.com for information on Beefy Bowls Out Teenage Cancer charity walk.
