Coach & Horses wins Best Kept Exterior Competition
Sharon Green of the Coach & Horses, Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire is the winner of the Carlsberg sponsored Hook Norton Brewery Best Kept Exterior Competition.
She was presented with the Ian Gilchrist Memorial Salver together with a cheque for £250 at a presentation at the brewery.
The pub is situated in the delightful local market town of Shipston on Stour and is an ideal place to rest after visiting its many small shop.
A wide range of home-cooked meals are available including a Full English breakfast on Saturdays from 10am until 12pm.
It is very much a community pub with lots of games and team spirit. There is an Aunt Sally team, a crib team, two dominoes teams, three men's darts teams and two ladies' darts teams. So, if it's pub games you're looking for, this is the place to be.
In the same competition four licences were highly commended - Chas Finch of the Elephant & Castle, Bloxham, Peter Nixey of the Gate Inn Upper Brailes, Ian Puddifoot of the Ye Olde Reindeer, Banbury and Stuart Rust of the Sun Inn Hook Norton.
Nicholas Saul of the Roebuck Inn, Drayton received the Most Improved award.
