Cycle challenge for charity
The Bell Inn's licensee John Bellinger has set himself quite a challenge. For he plans to cycle to every one of Hook Norton 23 pubs in Oxfordshire - and five in Northamptonshire too - raising funds for the Katharine House Hospice. When celebrating his first year at the Bell Inn pub in Adderbury, Oxfordshire he threw down the gauntlet to friends and customers, inviting them to come up with a challenge that would raise at least £200 for Katharine House Hospice.
"There were some quite good challenges put forward but the one that caught the imagination of the judges, and I must admit me, was to visit, over a weekend, every Hooky pub in Oxfordshire by bicycle," said John. "I am now busy planning and looking for as much support as I can, both during the challenge in the form of back up team with transport, spare bike, first aid experience/kit (and anyone with previous experience of such a caper) and of course financially in the form of sponsorship. "Your ideas, help and financial support would be greatly appreciated so that I can raise as much as possible for this valuable resource in North Oxfordshire.
Click Here to support me financially.
Or pop into the pub, with your purse or wallet." The 140 mile cycle challenge will take place over three days beginning on 22 September.
