Rose and Crown - the best local in the world

Real beer, real food, real people - the ambition at the Rose and Crown in Chipping Warden, for new licensees Polly Tajouri and Noelle Shipperlee is quite simple. The pair want to make their pub the best local in the world.

“We are a family friendly, traditional village pub,” said Polly.

Through hard work and endeavour they have transformed the pub. The bar area has been redecorated and new wood and stone floors have been laid throughout – booking is advised for their popular Sunday lunches in the pretty 36 seat dining area.

“The meat comes from the village butchers, and we buy our vegetables straight from the local allotments,” said Polly. If you are unsure which Hooky beer to drink, you can ask for a small sample glass. Coffee, cakes and pastries are available all day.

On Monday- Saturday lunch is served from 12-3, evening meals are available from 6-9.30pm and once the kitchen is closed late night snacks, including pies are available. And for hungry and tired travellers two letting rooms are available - one double and a family room which sleeps four.
