Stay in a pub
Our traditional English pubs not only provide some of the most welcoming and comfortable B&B facilities in the country, many can be found in sleepy villages and locations steeped in history all across the Cotswolds.
Here are just a few examples of the type of accommodation Hooky Pubs have to offer.
The Castle Inn is a public house situated on the summit of Edgehill in Banbury. Here on Sunday 23rd October 1642, King Charles I raised his standard and summoned his officers about him to prepare for the first major battles of the English Civil War. This B&B is in a very unique building, known as the Round Tower, or Radway Tower and it is one of the most unusual pubs in the country. Here you will sleep in comfortable 4 poster beds in bedrooms situated in the Main Tower.
Then there’s the Elephant and Castle an original 15th century coaching inn situated in the heart of the historic village of Bloxham. The pub offers bed and breakfast and is close to Chipping Norton and Banbury. This classic ale house boasts lots of history and bags of character.
The Star is a 300 year old public house offering modern, spacious and comfortable rooms all fully equipped.
In contrast, business parties might prefer the Sun Inn
pub in Hook Norton. As well as its fine pub menu it’s an ideal venue for meetings, small conferences, seminars and wedding parties.
The George in Lower Brailles also has five clean and bright, individually decorated rooms and is also full of character as it is a sympathetically refurbished Grade II listed coaching inn.
These are just a few examples of what some of our Pubs have to offer. If you do decide to stay in a Hooky Pub, we hope you enjoy your stay.
