Moreton-in-Marsh is a traditional North Cotswold market town. The small, friendly and pretty town, at the head of the beautiful Evenlode valley, dates back 1,000 years to the Saxon era.

The town has a wide variety of traditional shops, a supermarket, library, dentist, doctors, veterinary surgery, hotels and restaurants.

Description:

The Wellington was many years ago known as The Duke of Wellington, but its name changed over 50 years ago, when it was frequented by members of the Royal Air Force from a nearby airbase who flew Wellington bombers. Today, the airbase has gone, but the pub’s name is still The Wellington, and the sign outside is a tribute to its close links with the aeroplane.

The Wellington, however, still has very close links with the site of the airbase. The airbase is now a college for fire fighters from all over the world.

The main trading area consists of a good sized bar with a large seperate restaurant.

Fully equipped kitchen, traditionally furnished throughout, with many original features remaining, including an open fireplace with wood burning stove, exposed beams and providing a seating area for around 40 people.

The terraced area, located to the rear of the property provides a secluded area in which families can relax whilst enjoying the evening sun.

Parking area able to accommodate cars to the rear of the property. Potential to develop the catering operation through the variety of food served.
