Hook Norton Brewery’s Managing Director Set to Run London Marathon!

On Sunday 13th April 2014, James Clarke, the Managing Director of Brewing at Hook Norton Brewery will be running the London Marathon for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. James discovered that he had a place on 13th January 2014 and is now busy training in preparation for the big race!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of James’ sister, Victoria, being diagnosed with Leukaemia. Soon after being diagnosed at the age of 10, Victoria began raising money to help fund research into the disease. The fundraising began with a coffee afternoon and went on to grow from there and with the support of family and friends and along with the wider Hook Norton community; nearly £300,000 has been raised in the last 30 years for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Sadly, after two years of battling the disease, Victoria passed away.

As James pounds the pavements in London this year, he will be thinking of his sister, Victoria, who would’ve been turning 40 this year. James will also be running the London Marathon for his special friend, Ron Sheppard who sadly passed away from the disease too.
