Hooky Brewery Welcomes The Baton

Hook Norton Brewery welcomed the Baton military charity on 10 March. The charity exists to raise awareness and support for serving personnel past, present and their families. It has as its symbol the handle of a Medical Emergency Response Team stretcher used in Afghanistan to evacuate casualties from combat.  The charity’s founder, Alan Rowe, and Baton trustee Suzanne Dando, the television presenter and celebrated former Olympian gymnast, visited the brewery to thank it for its support.

Alan Rowe said, “The Baton containing the Baton’s "Message” exists as a conscience to remind the nation, and its leaders of our responsibility to those who risk their lives on our behalf, both the charity and those we support wished to express our thanks to the brewery for being such a keen supporter of our activities and purpose.”

Suzanne added, “The Baton has travelled the world with current, former servicemen and civilians raising awareness and funds, and we wished to express in person our appreciation of Hooky Brewery’s support. Family companies like Hooky share the values the Baton exists to promote.”

Jonathan Paveley, chairman of the brewery, said “We admire the selfless work the Baton charity does and as a patriotic company want to support the Baton’s objective of honouring our debt to our servicemen”.

The work and aims of the Baton can be seen on its Facbeook page and website www.thebaton.co.uk.
