HOOK NORTON BREWERY CELEBRATES HOOKY PUBS AT ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY

Held at Towcester Racecourse on 15th May the annual awards ceremony recognised and celebrated the importance of tenants and pub staff within the Hook Norton Brewery estate and showcased what their pubs can offer. Pubs competed over a wide range of categories with winners and highly commended up for grabs.

Pub of the year went to The Angel, Burford. The Angel is an award-winning pub close to the centre of Burford, a thriving, historic market town, known as 'the gateway to the Cotswolds'. Built in 1652, this cosy pub with rooms is packed with original features. Old oak beams adorn the ceilings and in the winter months flickering log fires reflect on the gleaming copper and brass. In the summer you can relax in the peaceful courtyard or in the walled garden.

The Angel has 2 AA Rosettes and has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its food. In the candlelit restaurant their menus reflect all that is good about local Cotswold produce, with an imaginative range of seasonal dishes, incorporating game from local estates, great fish dishes and stunning desserts, all created using the freshest and best ingredients available

It was a busy night for Terence & Gemma from The Angel as they also picked up awards for Marketing & Customer Service Pub of the Year (Winner), Beer Quality & Cellar Management Pub of the Year (High Commended), Food Champion (Highly Commended) and Best Letting Accommodation (Highly Commended)

These awards are testament to the hard work and dedication Terence, Gemma and the team have put in since taking over The Angel in 2012.

Hook Norton Brewery has 37 pubs in and around Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire so wherever you go in the Cotswolds and beyond, you won’t be too far from a Hooky pub. From old ‘drinking’ pubs to gastro pubs, Hook Norton has pubs to suit all tastes. All serving wonderful Hook Norton beer!
