CROWN AND TUNS, DEDDINGTON
Proprietor: Gerard Hughes
Features: Comfortable and cosy pub to relax and unwind in with enclosed rear beer garden and terrace.
The Crown & Tuns is a great little pub in the village of Deddington, that offers more than meets the eye. Concealed from view is a fabulous walled beer garden, sheltered from the wind with covered areas and ‘one of the best’ Aunt Sally throws in Oxfordshire.
The Crown & Tuns offers two menus, an à la cart menu available on evenings and a garden menu for lunch and dinner featuring more casual dining and sharing options, including it’s artisan hand stretched sourdough pizza’s that have become a real hit with the locals enjoying a pint of hooky or a glass of wine in the sun.
The pub’s head chef, learned his trade working in top restaurants across the country including Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir, Sucre in London and Soho Farmhouse. They take food seriously, at the Crown and Tuns, with almost everything made in house, from sausages to the super light Bánh mì bun for their burgers. The à la cart is almost totally gluten free by design and there are many options for Vegans and Vegetarians that are built into the menu rather than looking like an afterthought.
Keep an eye out on their social media for their hugely successful events that they run every month or so, ranging from hog roasts to street food from around the world.
