Yerevan Areni Karmrayhut Winemaker’s Blend Red (Winner of the International Wine Challenge Bronze Award) Fresh and juicy red fruit with cherries and an attractive peppery character on the palate. Interesting wine from vineyards at over 1000 metres. 12.5% abv.
Aglianico Del Vulture Le Ralle Alovini A deep crimson colour, smoky aromas and damson fruit balanced by soft tannins make this a distinctly fine wine. These Aglianico grapes are grown at around 1,500 feet in the area around the inactive volcano of Monte Vulture. 13%.
Paparuda Pinot Noir Really moreish Pinot Noir, with great fruit and lovely red berry aromas. Situated in western Romania just to the east of the town of Timisoara, Cramele Recas is a very impressive new winery on an old site. 12.5%
Stobi Vranec (Vegan) This has dense brambly fruit with blackberry, coffee and liquorice flavours with good, round tannins on the finish. Produced near the ancient city of Stobi in Macedonia. 15%.
Khareba Saperavi (Double Gold 2019 CWSA) This is a full flavoured wine with a sweet core of dense damson fruit, crunchy and savoury, with ripe tannins on the finish. Saperavi is a native Georgian variety giving wines that will age well.
Bardolino Classico Zeni Bardolino is the classic lunchtime wine in the restaurants around Verona, and this one from the Zeni family is no exception. Pale in colour with juicy fruit and soft tannin, it is eminently drinkable.12.5%
