Hook Norton Brewery Achieves Planet Mark Certified – Business
Hook Norton Brewery has achieved Planet Mark Certified – Business, recognising its commitment to measuring, managing and reducing its carbon emissions.
The certification follows a year of carbon measurement with Planet Mark, covering the period from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. As part of the process, the brewery established its carbon measurement boundary and reported its measured emissions, with supporting evidence reviewed as part of the Planet Mark process.
The Planet Mark methodology is fully aligned with the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, providing a robust framework for measuring greenhouse gas emissions.
For this reporting period, Hook Norton Brewery measured emissions across:
- Scope 1: stationary fuels, fugitive emissions and mobile fuels
- Scope 2: electricity and renewable energy
- Category 3: fuel- and energy-related activities
What does Planet Mark Certified – Business mean?
Planet Mark Certified – Business is a sustainability certification that recognises organisations that have taken steps to understand and measure their carbon footprint and commit to reducing their environmental impact.
For Hook Norton Brewery, achieving certification marks an important step in its ongoing sustainability journey. To retain Planet Mark Certification, members must demonstrate continuous improvement in accordance with the Planet Mark Net Zero Certification Scheme Rules.
“Measuring our carbon emissions gives us a clear picture of where our environmental impacts come from and, importantly, where we can make meaningful reductions. Achieving Planet Mark Certified – Business is an important milestone, but it is also the beginning of the next stage of our work. We are committed to continuing to measure, improve and reduce our emissions year on year.”
The certification provides Hook Norton Brewery with a structured framework for continuing its progress towards a lower-carbon future, while building on its longstanding commitment to responsible brewing and its local community.
