Hook Norton Brewery Celebrates 35 Years of James Clarke with Limited-Edition 3.5% Beer
Hook Norton Brewery is proud to announce, “Days Like These,” a new limited-edition cask ale brewed to mark James Clarke’s 35 years working at the brewery. The 3.5% ABV beer – matching the years of his dedication – is crafted by James alongside his son and lead brewer, Ed Clarke.
The beer revives the recipe originally used for “Generation” which James brewed to celebrate the birth of his other son, George Clarke, and continues Hook Norton’s tradition of marking family milestones through brewing.
Collaboratively brewed by father and son, Days Like These features Willamette hops, offering a subtle twist and tipping a hat to Hooky Gold, the brewery’s much-loved golden ale which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

James Clarke, Managing Director of Hook Norton Brewery, said: “Brewing has always been about moments and memories for our family. Days Like These is about family, heritage, and the simple joy of sharing a great pint. Marking my 35 years at Hook Norton with a beer where each percent of ABV represents a year of hard work feels incredibly special.”
Ed Clarke added: “Brewing this with my dad was special. Working with a recipe that has so much family history behind it and adding Willamette hops gave it a modern touch while celebrating Hooky Gold’s 20th anniversary. It’s a beer that connects the past, present and future of the brewery.”
Days Like These reflects Hook Norton Brewery’s dedication to craftsmanship, family tradition, and beers that bring people together to celebrate life’s memorable moments.
The beer will be available for a very limited time at the brewery, across Hook Norton pubs, and in discerning free houses.
