Heavy Horse Shoeing Demonstration

Following the roaring success of our heavy horse seminar, we're now pleased to be able to offer a three hour farriery demonstration on Saturday 28th March with our local skilled farrier, John Benfield DIPWCF and apprentice, Ben Ellery. John has been a farrier now for over 25 years and is responsible for shoeing the Hook Norton shires, keeping the team on the road throughout the year. He can be seen up and down the country competing in farriery competitions with many first places to his name.

On the day we invite you to delight in a 'blacksmiths breakfast' served promptly at 9am in our Malthouse Kitchen, before heading out at 9:45 for a fascinating insight into farriery, the sessions will last until 12:30 and are designed to showcase the skills and knowledge required to qualify as a farrier whilst providing owners and enthusiasts with the tools and confidence to make informed decisions about the care of their horses hooves.

We're pleased to be able to offer this fantastic morning for just £30pp to include a 'blacksmiths breakfast' (a full English breakfast, of hooky ale pork sausages, grilled back bacon, free range egg, baked beans, tomato, mushroom & sourdough toast) before heading out for the demonstration. We do unfortunately have limited availability and so spaces are on a first come, first served basis.

Please note this activity will take place outside and so we recommend suitable clothing for the weather conditions.
Vegan breakfast available - please specify on booking.
