NEW ANNIVERSARY ALE – 174 YEARS OF BEER AND BREWING
Hook Norton Brewery is celebrating another year of beer and brewing with the release of its range of Anniversary Ales.
The brewery first started brewing anniversary ales in their 167th year and have released a new range each year, with the beers brewed increasing a percentage in strength each time.
Now in their 174th year operating in the business of brewing, they have released 174 Strong Ale at 7.4%.
As the name suggests, this is a strong and robust dark red beer, fruity, full bodied with a hint of spice. It combines a robust trio of all English hops, delicate and smooth Goldings, spicy Challenger and floral Fuggles.
See: Dark Red
Smell: Fruity Malt
Taste: Spicy Fruit
The bottle label features a key event in the brewery’s rich history when in 1904 the brewery transport got steam powered with the arrival of a powered wagon for use on the road able to move large loads of beer from Hook Norton to Banbury and further afield.
174 Strong Ale is available exclusively from the brewery shop and online here
