Three Breweries, Two Continents, One Recipe – Red Barchetta is Born!
Hook Norton Brewery is proud to announce a truly global brewing collaboration – Red Barchetta (4.2%) – created in partnership with Canadian craft breweries Main St. Brewery, Neighbourhood Brewing, and hop experts Charles Faram & Co.
This special cask ale represents a meeting of minds, malts, and hops across two continents. The recipe was conceived live on the ‘Why This Beer’ podcast, where Andy Thomas of Hook Norton joined forces with Azlan Graves (Main St. Brewery) and Darren Binnema (Neighbourhood Brewing) to design a beer that would celebrate their shared passion for craftsmanship and innovation. Using Charles Faram hops and Hook Norton’s own yeast strain, Red Barchetta was born.
The beer was first brewed and canned at Main St. Brewery in Vancouver, Canada, before making its way to the UK where Hook Norton recreated the same recipe for a traditional cask version. The final result is a perfect fusion of British brewing heritage and Canadian creativity.
Tasting Notes:

To top it off, when the sample cans from Canada arrive, a follow-up episode of Why This Beer will compare both versions side by side — cask versus can, UK versus Canada — in a celebration of collaboration without borders.
