RED LION, STEEPLE ASTON
Proprietor: MEL & SARAH PHIPPS
Features: An inviting Oxfordshire village pub with a cosy bar, warmed by a wood burning stove. Our food is generous and unfussy and can be paired with local beers brewed just 12 miles away. We welcome well behaved children and are dog-friendly in the bar area.
Established hosts Mel and Sarah offer you a warm welcome to this traditional English country pub and restaurant situated in the Cherwell Valley. The bar is intimate and cosy with a real fire in winter and a pretty terrace for eating and drinking in the warmer weather.
The menu boasts many pub classics which are all prepared in-house, complemented by the specials board on which you may find fresh fish of the day, steaks, pies and roasts. The restaurant is a new addition to the main building and is ideal for family get-togethers and celebrations as well as quiet, candlelit dinners for two. There are three real ales always available and a choice of around ten quality wines by the glass.
The locals are friendly and do welcome well-behaved children. Cyclists, ramblers (there are many fantastic walks in the area) and dogs are all welcome at this most agreeable hostelry.
